Influence of the copper binder on the electrochemical properties of LaNi5-based metal-hydride electrodes
The paper studies how the efficiency of LaNi5 and LaNi4.75Al0.25, «-based metal-hydride electrodes is influenced by the copper binder introduced into their active mass in different ways: as powder (5, 10, and 20 wt %) and by means of chemical coppering the inter-metallide particles (7, 14, and 21 wt %). The copper binder introduction is shown to increase tire efficiency of both the charging process and discharge capacity, to extend the current density range where complete (100%) performance reversibility takes place.
