Electrochemical lithium intercalation into thin cadmium-doped carbon films
The electrochemical properties of thin cadmium-doped carbon films were characterized. Cadmium doping is shown to increase the stable specific capacity of lithium intercalation by approx. 1.5 times. After the doping, the potential-time profile shows a long slanting step at 0.050-0.060 V with respect to the lithium reference electrode. The voltammetry and potentiostatic tum-on methods were applied to estimate the kinetic characteristics of lithium intercalation-deintercalation into cadmium-carbon films.
