Icomparative studying of kinetics of bioelectrochemical oxidation of glucose in neutral environments by means of the microorganisms Escherichia coli and Enterobacter cloacae

The method of the rotating disk electrode studied electrochemical behavior redox mediator methylene blue in bioelectrochemical system «glucose – cell – mediator – electrode» and is shown that methylene blue is reversible oxidation-reduction a mediator and can be applicable at realization of the microbic media even anode on the basis of glucose and cell of Escherichia coli and Enterobacter cloacae.

The estimation of perfomanсe of exogenous redox mediators in the bioelectrochemical system glucose–Escherichia coli cells-mediator

The performance of several redox mediators (methylene blue, neutral red. and gallocyanine) in the bioelectrochemical system glucosc- Escherichia coli cells was estimated by means of the rotating disk electrode technique. The diffusion coefficients of the mediators under study were evaluated. Methylene blue and gallocyanine arc shown to be effective reversible electron carriers for the Escherichia coli-based bioanode.
